Professional Standards |
|
Professional Standards is the title given to the process of enforcing the Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics is the set of principles that REALTORS® use to conduct their business. The courts have recognized the REALTOR® Code of Ethics as a reasonable standard and the professional standards process as an effective method of enforcement. Consistent and knowledgeable use of both allows REALTORS® to police themselves, without excessive outside interference. Professional Standards allows for a due process hearing that serves to resolve disputes between REALTORS® or members of the public and other REALTORS®.
