The Home Seller/Home Buyer Dispute Resolution System (DRS) gives buyers and sellers a method to resolve disputes arising out of their agreement of sale. Compared to litigation, which is often time-consuming and costly, mediation is efficient and inexpensive. Mediation is also friendlier. The two parties sit down with a neutral third party (the mediator) and discuss ways of resolving their dispute. Unlike litigation where a judge makes a ruling of right or wrong, a successful mediation results in an agreement that the parties arrived at together.
