Privacy Statement

The privacy of members’ and non-member visitors’ information is important to the organization. In an age of spam, electronic viruses and identity theft, the Suburban West REALTORS® Association strives to ensure the information provided by members and the general public on the Association’s website ( www.suburbanwestrealtors.com ) and the Association of REALTORS® School’s website ( www.realtors-school.com ) remains secure. The following statement discloses the information gathering and dissemination practices for the Suburban West REALTORS® Association website and other websites owned and operated by the organization.

1. Information Is Collected. The Association gathers information on our members and non-member visitors in order to process transactions, registrations for classes and events and to maintain updated membership information. Members and non-member visitors provide this information on a voluntary basis and solely for purposes that are clearly identified. The following information is collected for Association records: personal and business addresses; phone and fax numbers; email address; and firm affiliations.
   
   
2. Opt-Out Provision. Members can at any time opt-out of receiving email notifications regarding services, products and programs. Members may also choose to opt out of receiving just commercial email messages from the Association or the School which promote products or events that are associated with a cost. Lastly, members can choose to not provide personal contact information, including home address, home phone, home fax and email address. 3. Use of Information. The Association reserves the right to update member and non-member visitor information in its database if provided by the member or non-member visitor via the website or email. The Association uses this information to communicate exclusively with members, including the Weekly News Service email, course marketing, upcoming events, REALTOR ® News mailing. Members’ business information (office name, office address, office phone) and email address are also printed in a quarterly Membership Roster and available through the Find A REALTOR ® function on the website. Only authorized employees have access to the data provided by members and that access.
   
   
4. Sharing Information. The Association does provide all member information (not the general public) to its subsidiary, the Suburban REALTORS® Alliance. The Association also rents the physical business addresses of members (not the general public) to third parties on a case-by-case basis. The Association will not share, sell or otherwise provide any other member information to third parties, including home address, home phone number, home fax number, cell phone number, and email address.
   
   
5. Credit Information Secure. Credit information that a member and credit authorizers provide when payments are made by credit card or electronic check for products or other services will only be used to process the transactions that are requested. This information will be provided to and maintained by reputable credit reporting databases, but will never be sold, shared or provided to other third parties.
   
   
6. Access To Data. The Association has security procedures and standards in place to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuses, alteration or destruction. The Association regularly monitors these procedures and standards and modifies them as new technologies become feasible.
   
   
7. Non-personal Information. The Association tracks the number of individuals who visit the organization’s website as well as the Association of REALTORS® School’s website in order to track usage and identify areas where improvements can be made. Other non-personal information tracked includes: browser type and operating system used by visitor; areas of site visited; date and time of access; host or service-provider information; and identification of the referring site. This information is used exclusively for internal purposes and is not disclosed to any third parties.
   
   
8. Links To Other Sites. Some of our sites contain advertising placed by advertising networks pursuant to agreements between the Association and various advertising networks. We do not control these advertising networks, the sites of third parties reached through links on our site or their information collection practices and the Association will not be responsible for the activities of these third parties. The advertising network uses cookies to collect certain non-personally identifiable information when you click on the banner ads appearing on our sites. This information is collected by the advertising network for purposes of measuring and reporting on the advertising to advertisers and the Association. The advertising network may also aggregate the information for certain other statistical and reporting purposes.
