General Membership FAQ
- What are the requirements of becoming a member of the Suburban West REALTORS® Association?
To become a member of the Suburban West REALTORS® Association, an individual must have an active real estate license and currently “hang” it at a REALTOR® office who is already a member of Suburban West.
To join the organization, licensees must submit an application form and the necessary dues. If the individual has never previously belonged to a REALTOR® organization, then they must also submit a one-time application fee ($150) and register and attend a New Member Orientation class.
If the individual had previously belonged to another REALTOR® organization, the application fee is waived although they may still need to complete Code of Ethics training if there has been a year lapse or longer in membership.
- Where can I find an application to join the Suburban West REALTORS® Association?
The application form for brand new REALTORS® can be accessed by clicking here. Previous REALTORS® or those coming from another Association should contact the office at (610) 560-4800.
- How much are membership dues?
The dues amount for 2008 is $338.00 and is due by 12/31/07.
- What do the membership dues cover?
The dues allow for membership in three organizations, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® (PAR) and the Suburban West REALTORS® Association.
A certain percentage of the dues paid to Suburban West REALTORS® Association also are allocated to the Suburban REALTORS® Alliance, the legislative organization owned by the Suburban West REALTORS® Association, Montgomery County Association of REALTORS® and the Bucks County Association of REALTORS®.
The membership dues do NOT cover membership in TREND. While a connection between the organizations exists, they function separately and maintain their own membership requirements and dues.

6. How do I change or update my member information?
Members can change most of their membership information themselves by logging on to the Payment/Registration Center on the website. Once logged in using their Login Name (First and Last Name) and their Password (the last 4 digits of their social security number), members click on the link Personal Information.
Note that the only information members cannot change is their office affiliation, their real estate license number and their social security number.
- Why is updating member information important?
The Suburban West REALTORS® Association communicates with its membership often and having the correct information in our database is crucial to delivering information effectively. Delivery of the REALTOR® News magazine and the Weekly News Service are dependent on the valid data in our system. And since business relationships are critical in real estate, members knowing the correct contact information of other members (as provided by a central resource like the Association) helps keep business running smoothly.
- How many members do the Suburban West REALTORS® Association, Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® and National Association of REALTORS® represent, respectively?
There are over 5,300 REALTOR® and Affiliate Members in the Suburban West REALTORS® Association. There are more than 30,000 REALTORS® in the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® (PAR) and over 1.2 million REALTORS® listed as belonging to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
