New Member Orientation is required of all new REALTOR® members to the Suburban West REALTORS® Association in order to successfully complete the membership application process. During this full day session, applicants are introduced to the many resources available to them through membership, including a panel discussion of Association benefits and services and professional development training. Students will also interact with staff, REALTOR® volunteers and affiliate members to provide a comprehensive view of the value of membership in the organization.
Only those real estate licensees who choose to join a REALTOR® Association may use the term REALTOR ®. With that privilege come benefits and obligations which are explained during New Member Orientation. Upon submission of a complete application and appropriate dues, the applicant signs up for the next available New Member Orientation session. Prior to attending the session, the applicant becomes a provisional REALTOR® member. Provisional membership entitles the licensee to all the rights, privileges and obligations of membership pending completion of New Member Orientation and approval of the Board of Directors.

New Member Orientation is scheduled 8:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the following dates: 10/18/07,
11/15/07, 12/15/07 (Sat), 01/17/07, & 02/21/07.
NOTE: New applicants will be assigned to the first open new member orientation session available after their completed application is received. Due to increased enrollment, the next available class may not be the next calendar date. Board policy requires that applicants attend one of the first two available sessions at the time of their application. Failure to meet this requirement will result in forfeiture of application and provisional status. If an applicant anticipates scheduling conflicts (i.e. pre-planned business or personal appointments) to interfere with their ability to attend a new member class when assigned, they are instructed to call 610-560-4800 to check availability before submitting their application.
