Designation Requirements > Green Designation Requirements

NAR’s Green Designation is supported by the NAR Green Resource Council. The green movement is affecting every asset class in real estate, such as office, retail, residential, hospitality, institutional, and industrial. Caters to today’s progressive real estate professional.

To earn NAR's Green Designation, you must achieve the following:

  • Successfully complete 3 one-day courses specific to residential real estate practice and pass the written examination for each.
  • After completing two of the three Green Designation courses, students begin a free year of membership with NAR’s Green Resource Council and have one year to complete the final one day course and earn the Green Designation.
  • Submit the Green Designation Application Form upon successful completion of the 3 one-day courses.
  • Maintain active membership in the National Association of REALTORS® - either as a REALTOR® member or Institute Affiliate member – as well as maintain active membership in the Green Resource Council.

Note: Students who complete the Core Course receive a one-year membership in NAR’s Green Resource Council.
