Balancing the obligations of representing a client with the expectation of others is not an easy task. In this class we will explore that balance. Using lecture, case studies and interactive group exercises students will 1) identify the obligations of agent to client; agent to other agent; and agent to other consumers 2) distinguish between obligation to client and honesty to all parties and 3) demonstrate the dilemmas of balancing what’s ‘fair’ with what’s ‘ethical or legal’.
