History of the Suburban West REALTORS® Association |
|
The result of a merger between the Chester County Association of REALTORS® and the Delaware Valley REALTORS® Association, the Suburban West REALTORS® Association was formed on January 1, 2004. With a membership total of 5,300, this organization is the largest local REALTOR® Association in the Commonwealth and provides the highest level of service and products to real estate professionals in Chester County, Delaware County, and the Main Line.
The former Chester County Association was chartered by the National Association of REALTORS® in 1920 and had a long history of progress and success in this ever-developing County. The governing bodies of this organization were pioneers in this rural region and were instrumental in molding the culture and scope of the fruitful Chester County real estate market.
The former Delaware Valley Association was charted in 1921 and was known as the Delaware County Board of REALTORS®. As the real estate market began to grow beyond county boundaries, the leadership teams of the Delaware County and Main Line Associations planned and executed a successful merger in January 1996. The visionary leadership teams recognized the value of leveraging resources to deliver leading-edge services to the real estate professionals in the region.
Drawing on the combined 135-year history of the two former Associations, this new organization is committed to delivering innovative resources and programs to its membership on a cost-effective basis to enable members the ability to maximize their income while providing superior service to the public that has become the hallmark of REALTORS®. Member strong and customer-centered, the Suburban West REALTORS® Association is continuing to evolve and grow to meet the needs of our members now and for the future.
