Code of Ethics Updates Released for 2010

EthicsWhat separates you from being just a real estate licensee? The fact that you adhere to a Code of Ethics that guides your business acumen with clients and fellow real estate professionals. As the industry continues to evolve, the Code of Ethics continues to be updated so that it meets today's new challenges.

In 2010, REALTORS will find several changes to their Code of Ethics. Some of the issues addressed are:

  • The time at which a modified commission must be communicated (Article 3)
  • Unauthorized access to property (Article 3)
  • Responsibility for the publication of false or misleading statements made by others (Article 15)

A copy of the 2010 Code of Ethics with changes highlighted in yellow can be found here. Suburban West REALTORS Association staff is happy to bring an Office Education Program on the Code of Ethics or other topics you desire. Lastly, learn how Ethics is impacting today's real estate at our upcoming 7 hr. MCE course Ethics in Today's Real Estate World.
