Thank You to our
Students and Instructors
On behalf of the entire staff, we thank you
for your outstanding and continued support of ARS and look forward to
serving you in the next cycle. Remember that the Association of REALTORS
School offers classes year-round and will begin a full complement of
Designation and Broker courses over the summer and appraiser courses early
next year. Note that we also continue to offer 06-08
online MCE courses through June 30. For more information on
upcoming classes, please log on to www.realtors-school.com.
As we close our 2006-2008 Salesperson/Broker Renewal Period,
we do it with a sense of pride and accomplishment. The Association of
REALTORS School (ARS) offered over 200 classes and educated over 7,000
students since the beginning of the renewal period on June 1, 2006. From
your excellent remarks and overall course satisfaction, it confirms our commitment
to quality education and outstanding customer service. It is your support
and loyalty that made our school and this renewal period a success. And the
success of our school is integral to our ability to maintain the cost of
local dues for over 10 years. Thank you again to the students and
instructors for their dedication to the School.
Be Proactive:
Using Positive News with the Consumer
How can you best counteract some of the
negative national stories about the housing market? Make sure that
consumers within your sphere of influence (current clients, former clients,
potential clients) are exposed to positive stories on the Philadelphia-area
housing market.
Most consumers are exposed to national stories that appear on
cable news outlets (or on their website), the network news, and even wire
stories that appear in local papers. But with your direct contact with
clients, you have the opportunity to be an additional conduit of
information that is more local in nature. And when it is from a third-party
source, like one of the county newspapers or the Philadelphia Inquirer, it
has that much more impact.
One such article that appeared this week in the Inquirer was a
story on a recent study finding area home values fair and comparisons of
our market to other. To access this article, click
here and consider passing it along to your clients who may be on
the fence about whether to buy or sell a home.

What is New in Technology Trends?
Technology is constantly evolving,
especially in the real estate industry. Often times, it seems difficult to
keep up with the trends or to know about what the new hot gadget is.
The Association of REALTORS School
offers the Introduction to e-PRO workshop at the Association office in
Malvern to give REALTORS a taste of what the e-PRO designation can do to
help improve their business. To see a list of the FREE e-PRO workshps
offered this summer and to sign up, please click
here. Licensees who attend the e-PRO workshop before they sign up
for the online designation course will receive a $25 discount on the course
and a free website.
By attaining the e-PRO designation, you
will be able to apply the technology trends that you learn to prospect for
new clients, as well as use the skills that you learned to keep in touch
with the clients that you have in your network. The e-PRO course is done
completely online, so you work at your own pace and on your own time.
To get a glimpse of what some of the
technology predictions are for real estate, please click

In the past, our professionalism tips have
focused on specific tasks. Taken together, these individual items will help
add to the professional image of REALTORS. Today we ask you to consider a
definition. What does it mean to be professional?
One can start by considering the Golden
Rule; "treat others as you would like to be treated". When
dealing with a mirror image of you, this may be enough. Beyond basic
courtesies, though, this will not be enough to sustain most relationships.
There are gender, age, cultural, social and intellectual (to name just a
few) differences that may wipe out your best professional intentions. One
size does not fit all.
Most people appreciate being
appreciated. When you take the time and make the effort to appreciate what
they need or have to offer, they will be more receptive to what you have to
sell them. They will appreciate your skill, be loyal to the relationship
and accept the cost of your services because you valued them first.
