Professionalism Tip: An Educated Consumer Prevents Procuring Cause Accidents
REALTOR reviewing paperwork Take time to fully explain notices and agreements such as the Consumer Notice and Relationship Agreements. Article 16 (standard of practice 16013) requires that you ask a prospective client if they are a party to any exclusive representation agreement. Simply asking a question is often not enough. Be sure to explain what it is you are asking them. The consumer does not have the expertise or understanding of the business that you do. That is why they need you - a professional. Begin that professional relationship with a careful explanation of what you expect, what they can expect and the benefits of exclusivity. Educate them and you will more likely get loyalty in return.

Use Your Website to Your Advantage
People on website REALTORS websites are often times the lifeline to their prospective buyers and sellers. It gives the consumer some insight as to how the REALTOR would assist them with their housing need, but what exactly makes the REALTOR stand out from the crowd? Many agents in the area offer "extras" on their site as well as their listings and their firm's listings. Some of these extras can just be a small box that contains the current mortgage rates or maybe a quick "How to" list about how to select an agent. Agents have also began requesting some minimal information from users who wish to view the listings from their webpages. This is an excellent way to establish contact with someone who is obviously considering selling or purchasing a home within the area.

Various websites also offer FREE tools for REALTORS to improve their site or add some interactive features for consumers to use. To view an article on some additional ways to bring more traffic to your website, please click here.
