SRA Update: We win! Onerous MLS language stripped out of Open Records Legislation
On Tuesday the PA State Senate unanimously approved Open Records Legislation (SB 1) that struck the language which would have prohibited TREND MLS from purchasing and repackaging county assessment and housing characteristic data. Your collective "REALTOR" voice was heard on this critical issue! This victory is a true example of the power of grassroots politics, as a record number of our members sent letters and e-mails to their elected representatives.

According to the Suburban REALTORS Alliance (SRA), Suburban West members sent an average of 60+ e- mails and letters to 20 PA House members from Delaware and Chester County. In total, members of the four-county SRA sent 2,354 letters and e-mails, approximately 44 percent of the communications received by House members statewide!

Please be sure to thank your State Representatives and Senators for understanding our concern regarding this issue and unanimously taking action to fix it. Thank you for your support of this important initiative!

Safety Tip
A year-long series of brief recommendations to promote REALTOR safety in the office and out in the field.
Install good locks on your home. Your home should have deadbolts with full one-inch bolts on all entry doors in addition to existing locksets. Any door with glass panels within three feet of the lock should have a double cylinder deadbolt, which requires a key on both sides.
