Service is an exclusive benefit available to members of the Suburban
West REALTORS Association. Featuring both Association news and local
real estate industry information, the Weekly News is a service meant
to benefit all members of the organization.
Supra Conversion Week Begins on Monday
 Beginning this Monday (February 11), members of the Suburban
West REALTORS Association will be able to exchange their electronic
keypad, cradle and electronic lockboxes to the new system. It is
important to note that there will be no interruption of service
during the exchange process and that all members should follow the
schedule (based on the letter of your last name) for the two
conversion locations.

Association Office Open on President's Day
 The Suburban West REALTORS Association will be open on
Monday, February 18 (President's Day) to further accommodate the
Supra Conversion. The office will be open its regular business hours
of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Professionalism Tip: Can a Real Estate Licensee Perform a
BPO?
The short answer is that individuals who hold ONLY a real
estate license may not perform Broker Price Opinions (BPO). A BPO is
considered an appraisal and can only be performed by an individual
who holds an appraisal license. Know the difference between a BPO
and a comparative market analysis (CMA). CMA's may be performed by a
real estate licensee. A CMA has a very specific definition and must
contain a specific disclosure provided by the Real Estate

Mediation Scholarship Awarded
 The Leadership Team is pleased to announce that the Kathleen
B. Riehl Mediation Scholarship has been presented to Marcy
Friedland. The scholarship will cover $500.00 tuition, lodging and
travel expenses to attend the Real Estate Mediation course being
offered by the Pennsylvania REALTORS Institute on March 13 and 14 at
the Harrisburg Hilton. Congratulations Marcy!
The mediation course is open to any REALTOR or attorney who
desires to serve as a Professional Standards or Dispute Resolution
Mediator. If you wish to take this course please contact Paula Tansey

Discounted Sixers Tickets Available
 The Philadelphia 76ers are offering Real Estate professionals
a special appreciation night for its March 15 game against the San

Safety Tip A

in the office and out in the field.
Don't dial and drive. If you must use your cell phone
while driving, follow this advice for best safety practices: Use a
hands-free model so that you can keep your hands on the wheel; learn
to operate your phone without looking at it- you should practice
this before getting behind the wheel; and don't dial while
driving.
