REALTOR Emeritus Recipients Announced, Honored
The Suburban West REALTORS Association is pleased to announce
that the following individuals have received REALTOR Emeritus status
from the National Association of REALTORS. REALTOR Emeritus is
granted to members upon having held REALTOR membership for 40 or
more consecutive years. For recognition of achieving a milestone
that has become rare in the business world, the Association waives
the annual dues for members for the remainder of their
membership.
Many members were present yesterday (September 14) to receive
a certificate and pin commemorating their 40 years from Suburban

New Sales Meeting Topics Announced
The Suburban West REALTORS Association continues to offer
member offices the opportunity to have a staff member speak on a
number of timely and informative topics at sales meeting or
education workshops. Since beginning the service in 2005, more than
70 offices have taken advantage of this value-added FREE
service.
If you have participated before or would like to have us in
for the first time, please note that there are a number of new
topics that are available. Note that any of these topics can be
customized for length and for the particular information that is
presented. Also, a 5-minute Association update is included with each
presentation. The new topics are:
- RELRA-Real Estate Licensing and Registration Act
- RESPA-Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act
- Anti-Trust in Real Estate
- Data Security Laws-Protecting your Clients from ID Theft
- Career Development Through Education
These topics and the others are a great resource for members

Worried About Risk?
There are more possible risks than ever in real estate that
can leave you in a precarious position. To learn the potential risks
that you may face and how to avert them, plan on attending the
two-day course Managing Risk in Real Estate on October 5 and 6. This
GRI course will be offered at the Association of REALTORS School and
provides an overview of real estate issues, including:
misrepresentation; anti- trust; fair housing; disclosure,
environmental law, agency and buyer representation; contract law and

Health Insurance Seminar on October 16
Are you not insured or considering changing your current
coverage? USI Colburn will be conducting a seminar at the
Association’s office regarding Independence Blue Cross/Blue Shield
coverage options that are available to REALTORS of the Suburban West
REALTORS Association. October is open enrollment for subscribers and
this meeting will be a tremendous opportunity to discuss one-on-one
with USI Colburn representatives what plan may be best for you and
your family. There will also be a brief update on the Small Business

Busy Main Line real estate office is seeking an office
assistant to work 5 days per week 9 a.m. to - 5 p.m.. The successful
candidate must have strong computer skills. They also must enjoy
being busy, meeting challenges, be able to multi-task and possess
good people skills. Real estate experience is helpful and great

Appraisal office in Frazer seeking Typist/Clerical
Assistant. Job responsibilities include typing appraisals and
general office duties such as filing, scheduling appointments and
customer service. Familiarity with TREND necessary and knowledge of

September 18, the Association will host CMA- Comps and Reports from
10 a.m. to 12 noon AND Top 10 Tips To Maximize the Effectiveness of
TREND from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Note that both of these courses
are free of charge and open to all REALTORS of the organization.

FREE “Introduction to e-PRO Workshop” Presented Next
Friday (September 22)--The e- PRO course was designed for
REALTORS by REALTORS. The course has proven valuable to REALTORS
just learning about technology as well as to those with advanced
computer knowledge. To find out if the on line e-PRO course will
benefit your career, plan to attend a FREE “Introduction to e-PRO
Workshop” on Friday, September 22, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at the
Association’s Malvern office. REALTOR Patricia Moyer, ABR, e-PRO,
GRI, SRES will lead this seminar and will introduce you to the
concepts presented in the course to help you decide if this
certification is one you want to pursue at this time. Attendees will

Safety Should Always Be A Top Priority For Members -
Sponsored by the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). REALTOR
Safety Week (September 10 through 16) is a time for us to remember
those who have been threatened or harmed while on-the-job, but also
to take precautions for our own safety, now and in the future.
"Educating our members on the importance of safety awareness can
mean the difference between life and death," says Thomas Stevens,
President of NAR. Locally, there have been incidents or near- misses
and fortunately there has been a more concerted effort by agents and
offices to take more extensive safety measures. Though some
