Service is an exclusive benefit available to members of the Suburban
West REALTORS Association. Featuring both Association news and local
real estate industry information, the Weekly News is a service meant
to benefit all members of the organization.
Candidates Announced For Board of Directors Election
The Association is pleased to announced the slate of
candidates who will be on the ballot for election to the 2007 Board
of Directors. To

be mailed to every REALTOR member on October 4 with the election
culminating at the Annual Membership Meeting scheduled for Friday,
October 25 at the Springfield Country Club. Members will be asked to
choose four (4) REALTOR® members to serve alongside the incumbent
Directors. Candidates elected will serve a 2-year term to the
Board.
As in year's past, you will have the option of casting your
ballot through the mail or by electronic means. In accordance with
the Bylaws, additional candidates may be placed in nomination by
petition by at least five percent (5%) of the REALTOR Members
eligible to vote. The petition must be filed with the Association's
Chief Executive Officer at least four (4) weeks before the election
(September 27).

Learn The Finance of Real Estate Inside and Out
Finance is an essential part of the real estate transaction
and more complicated than ever. The Association of REALTORS School's
4-day Real Estate Finance course (September 6, 13, 20, 27) is
designed to teach you the myriad financial issues that can affect
the transaction so that you can be a greater resource for your
clients.
In this course, the student will learn about:
- sources of mortgage funds;
- government influences in the financial market;
- financing instruments; and
- mortgage placement procedures.
The tuition for this course is $325.00 and includes the
textbook, course materials and lunch each class day. Students who
complete the course will satisfy 2 Broker Credits, 14 elective hours
towards 2006- 2008 PA License Renewal, 12 elective hours towards DE
License Renewal, and 30 hours PA CLE credits. Click

Enhance Your Knowledge of New Construction
In the coming months, members of the Suburban West REALTORS
Association will be offered distinct opportunities to increase their
familiarity with the new construction market through some programs
offered through the Home Builders Association of Chester and
Delaware Counties (HBA).
First, members are invited to network with some of the area’s
top builders! Join the HBA as they have a prospective member free
happy hour, Wednesday August 30th 4:00 – 6:00 PM, on the Coyote
Crossing Rooftop located at 102 East Market Street (cross street,
Walnut) in West Chester. Be sure to enter your business card for a
chance at several $50 Coyote Crossing Gift Certificates to be given

In conjunction with the HBA, the Association of REALTORS
School is offering licensees a unique opportunity to earn the CSP
Designation in October. The three-day Certified New Home Sales
Professional will be held at the school in Malvern on October 11, 18
and 25. The course offers insight into the home building process and
advanced techniques for working with clients. In addition to earning
the CSP Designation, attendees will accumulate 14 hours of PA
continuing education credits and 1 Broker Credit. For more

Finally, for others interested in learning more about the
builders’ end product, the HBA of Chester and Delaware Counties is
hosting a REALTOR new home tour from October 23 – 28, 2006. REALTORS
will need to visit a total of 7 communities to be eligible for great
prizes. Additional details will be announced in upcoming issues of
the Weekly News Service.
Reminders
Begin Earning the ABR Designation in Springfield--
Following up on our successful MCE courses in the spring, the
Association of REALTORS School is pleased to bring more education
courses to Delaware County. The 2 day Accredited Buyer Agency course
will be held at the Springfield Country Club on September 18 and 19,
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The course tuition is $249 which includes
lunch both days and all course materials. The ABR designation class
has been submitted for 14 hours of PA MCE credit, 12 Hours of DE MCE
Credit and 1 broker credit. For more information, please click

TREND classes are coming back to Malvern. On September
18, the Association will host CMA- Comps and Reports from 10 a.m. to
12 noon AND Top 10 Tips To Maximize the Effectiveness of TREND from
1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Note that both of these courses are free of
charge and open to all REALTORS of the organization. To

Next Happy Hour Scheduled-- On September 20, the
Association will conduct its next Happy Hour at George'
s in Wayne. This has been one of the best locations for the
events and many members have come out to meet and greet fellow
members, enjoy complimentary appetizers and drink specials, and be
eligible to win great door prizes generously donated by Affiliate
