Still Need Education Credits To Renew Your License?
The Association of REALTORS School continues to offer options
for licensees to gain education credits towards the renewal of their
Pennsylvania Real Estate License. A variety of online courses
offering either 3.5 hours or 7 hours of continuing education credit
can be taken at anytime. To access our listing of courses, please click
here.
In addition to our online courses, we have classes scheduled
at school on June 15. In the morning, we will be conducting The
CFE's of Real Estate (9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) and, in the afternoon,
Everything You Should Know About RESPA (1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.). Each
course is $35 and provides 3.5 hours of MCE credit towards PA 04-06
license renewal. To register, click
here or call 610-560-4900. NOTE: As with all courses offered
by the School, there is a chance that they might be cancelled if
minimal enrollment requirements are not met.
Please remember that if you have not completed the 14 hours
of education requirements, you have not successfully renewed your
license. Practicing real estate on an expired license will subject
you to prosecution by the State Real Estate Commission.
Tax Changes in Coatesville and Marple-Newtown
The Coatesville Area School Board approved a budget for the
upcoming 2006-7 school year that includes a tax reduction of 1.75
mills. The new millage for the upcoming year will be 25.7 mills
compared to the current millage of 27.45. For an average home
assessed at $113,213, the home owner’s school taxes will fall from
$3,107.69 a year to $2,909.57.
The Marple-Newtown School District passed its annual budget,
raising property taxes about 4 percent. The $56,250,000 solution to
next year’s fiscal demands raises the district’s millage rate to
14.14, and will raise the annual tax bill for the average $254,000
homeowner about $140 (Source: Daily Local News, 5/26/06; County
Press, 5/24/06)
Start The Process Towards Earning Your Brokers License
The Association of REALTORS School is pleased to provide a
comprehensive Brokers License Curriculum between June 2006 and
August 2007. Completion of these courses will provide a significant
portion of the education requirements towards a Pennsylvania Brokers
License.
The first class that will be offered is Real Estate
Law. This four-day course will be conducted every Monday this
month beginning June 5. The course gives you a working knowledge of
the areas of law related to the sale, purchase, financing and lease
of real property. The course is designed to provide a road map, or
early warning system, of potential legal problems that a practicing
real estate professional faces everyday. Tuition is $325 which
includes the course materials and lunch each day. To register, click
here or call 610-560-4900.
FREE “Introduction to e-PRO workshop” Wednesday, June
28th
What are Realtors Saying About e-PRO? "As a person with 10
years of previous IT background, I started e- PRO with the attitude
that it would just be a refresher of items that I had already seen,
done, or heard about. From the first, I knew that this course would
be something special. It was geared toward technology, but in more
of a marketing sense, how to take that technology and use it to
prosper in the real estate industry. I have learned a lot of good
information and will be putting it to good use."
The e-PRO course was designed for REALTORS by REALTORS. The
course has proven valuable to REALTORS just learning about
technology as well as to those with advanced computer knowledge. To
find out if the on line e-PRO course will benefit your career,
plan to attend a FREE “Introduction to e- PRO workshop” on
Wednesday, June 28th, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at the Association’s Malvern
office. The seminar will introduce you to the concepts presented
in the course and help you decide if this certification is one you
want to pursue at this time. Attendees will also receive a $30
discount off the online registration fee.
