Update on Small Business Health Plan Legislation
A recent procedural vote that would have cleared the way for members of the U.S. Senate to pass small business health plan legislation fell five votes short of the 60 votes needed. As a result, the bipartisan co-sponsors of the bill, S. 1955, must go “back to the drawing board” in search of a few more supporters. Last week during the National Association of REALTORS mid-year legislative meeting in Washington, REALTORS from all over the nation made it clear to lawmakers that this legislation is a top priority for the industry. The fact that 89% of voters surveyed in a recent public opinion poll expressed their support for small business health plans should help our cause.

This issue will be presented in more detail during the Association's upcoming Health Insurance Forum on Tuesday, June 6 at 9 a.m. This FREE event is open to all members and will also feature presentation on the health plans available to members through USI Colburn. To register, please click here. Once logged in, click on the Events Calendar link and locate the event.
