Thank You To Our Students and Instructors
As we close our 2004-2006 Salesperson/Broker Renewal Period,
we do it with a sense of pride and accomplishment. The Association
of REALTORS School (ARS) offered a total of 120 classes and educated
5,400 students since September. From your excellent remarks and
overall course satisfaction, it confirms our commitment to quality
education and outstanding customer service. It is your support and
loyalty that made our school and this renewal period a success. And
the success of our school is integral to our ability to maintain the
cost of local dues for over 10 years.
On behalf of the entire staff, we thank you for your
outstanding and continued support of ARS and look forward to serving
you in the next cycle. Remember that the Association of REALTORS
School offers classes year-round and will begin a full complement of
Designation and Broker courses beginning in June and appraiser
courses early next year. For more information on upcoming classes,
please log on to www.realtors-school.com.
Local Housing Trends Favorable for 2nd Quarter
A recently published report from TREND indicates that house
sales should continue at a strong pace in Chester, Delaware and
Montgomery counties over the next three months. Key indicators are
the job situation still being strong in each area and relatively low
mortgage rates. TREND also reports that each area will continue to
be a seller's market.
Nationally, there is evidence of a slowdown in housing sales.
David Lereah, Chief Economist for the National Association of
REALTORS, speaking this week at the NAR Mid-Year Meetings, indicated
that, nationally, housing sales are down 5 to 20 percent in some
markets. Especially hard hit are the markets that had tremendous
growth. Lereah, though, predicts that sales will begin to rebound in
2007 because many economic indicators are solid. Thus, the boom
cities will have a soft landing (not a bubble burst) and non-boom
cities will see sharper home sales growth. For more economic
information from NAR, please click

Easttown to Hold Hearing on Enhanced Zoning Ordinance
The Easttown Board of Supervisors have scheduled a public
meeting for June 5 at 8 p.m. at the township building to hear public
comment on Easttown’s proposed zoning ordinance. The zoning
ordinance project has been described as one of collecting,
coordinating, and codifying many older ordinances and providing
better definitions in some areas, such as the village district and
parking issues. Township districts are not modified, and there are
no changes in the zoning map. (Source: The Suburban and Wayne

Chesco Townships Say Yes to Preserving Farmland
Referendums in four Chester County townships -- East Vincent,
West Vincent, London Grove and Pocopson—voters opted to increase
their taxes for open-space preservation in all four townships that
had it on the ballot in the primary election. Some of the votes were
close, with London Grove’s referendum passing by only 25 votes,
while residents of West Vincent overwhelmingly supported their
referendum. (Source: The Mercury; 5/18/06)
