Office Closed Tomorrow (April 14)
building The Suburban West REALTORS Association will be closed tomorrow, April 14. If you require any business with the Association, please contact the staff by 5 p.m. today. RPAC Volunteers Sought
rpac The REALTORS Political Action Committee (RPAC) is seeking member volunteers to assist with their 2006 fundraising efforts. Interested members are asked to respond to Vinnie Pagnini by calling 610-560-4800 or email vpagnini@suburbanwestrealtors.com. Volunteers will then be asked to attend a planning meeting at the Association's office on April 24.

RPAC is charged with contributing money to candidates whose agenda and interests correlate with REALTOR interests. As such, member volunteers are asked take part in planning our fundraising efforts for 2006 and to participate in our RPAC telethon on June 16.

2006 is an important election year with many hotly contested races. And with the real estate industry under attack more then ever, our strong support of candidates who reflect our interests is crucial. For more information on RPAC, please click here.

Health Insurance Forum on June 6
health insurance The Suburban West REALTORS Association, in conjunction with USI Colburn, is pleased to host a Health Insurance Forum on June 6. This FREE program begins at 9 a.m. and will feature an informative presentation by USI Colburn. Additionally, time will be allotted for questions from attendees on health insurance issues and the status of recent legislative efforts by the National Association of REALTORS. Attendees will also be able to consult one-on-one with USI Colburn staff regarding specific health care needs.

REALTORS Legislative Alliance Names New Chief Staff Executive
The Suburban West REALTORS Association would like to announce the hiring of Jamie Ridge as the new Chief Staff Executive of the REALTORS Legislative Alliance (RLA). Jamie replaces Mike McGee, who departed the organization at the end of March to become Executive Vice President of the Homebuilders Association of Chester and Delaware Counties.

Jamie comes to the RLA with a strong background in public/government relations as he was the former Director of Public Affairs for Fannie Mae. Prior to that post, he was the Director of Communications for the Concord Coalition in Washington, DC.

Katrina Relief Effort – Household Goods Collection
katrina The Exton Region Chamber of Commerce is organizing a household goods collection to directly benefit the people of Pass Christian, Mississippi who were devastated by Hurricane Katrina. A household goods collection will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2006 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, April 30th, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The collection site is located in the Exton SAM’S CLUB parking lot (off of Commerce Drive and Indian Run Rd., near Rts. 100 & 30). Trucks loaded in Exton will be delivered directly to Pass Christian.

Kindly contribute “gently-used” or new household items (furniture, linens, appliances, rugs, kitchen items, etc.) and cleaning supplies and bring them to our collection site. Items too large for individual transport can be arranged to be picked up by calling 610-646-8652 (and asking for Sarah Stewart). Top 10 Tips (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.)--Discover the top 10 tips that will maximize your efficiency with TREND. Learn timesaving functions like how to set your personal defaults, create flyers, use the address book and search in Realty Records. Instructors will also teach you how to download, format and print mailing labels from Realty Records.

Intro To Realty Records (1 p.m. – 3 p.m.)-- Realty Records is a Public Records system developed by TREND. This introductory course will teach you about new functionality that links the tax record and the MLS listing. Our instructors will show you how to use Realty Records to perform various searches including searching by owner’s name and street address. We will also include how to build reports and export labels.
