NEW INFORMATION
- Marcus Hook Sprinkler Requirements— Marcus Hook Borough Council recently adopted a resolution providing for sprinkler systems in certain buildings. The ordinance seeks to require a higher level of fire safety in newly constructed two-family, multi-family residential structures, and commercial, industrial, educational, and religious occupancies of one or more stories by requiring automatic sprinkler system installations. Sprinkler systems will also be required in all properties that are converted from single family owner-occupied dwellings to single, multiple, or two family rental units or where the number of living units is increased by one or more units. - Call For Volunteers— The Suburban West REALTORS Association has established a Task Force to look into health insurance issues being faced by REALTORS and how and if the local Association can assist further. The Insurance Task Force will initially convene 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26 at the Suburban West REALTORS Association and we anticipate it meeting a number of more times over the remainder of the year. The charge of the Task Force is as follows:
In response to increasing health care costs and issues concerning the availability of affordable coverage for members, the Task Force will convene to research what options, if any, may be available for the Association to pursue in addressing this growing concern among our members. Research will include a survey of members’ current health care situation, gaining a better understanding of insurance issues and legislative initiatives effecting the health insurance industry, and investigating other providers and administrators. The goals of the Task Force are to: educate the membership on the issues; identify whether there are other quality options available for health care insurance that are less expensive; and/or other options that offer value-added benefits and services.
Members interested in serving on the Insurance Task Force should respond to Steve Farace at sfarace@suburbanwestrealtors.com by Friday,
July 21.
