Discussion
Question
Each
month, the Suburban West REALTORS Association will provide
Association Liaisons with a question in which we are seeking
member feedback on. We urge you to discuss this
question with agents at your office during a sales meeting,
through an email, or during the course of your daily
conversations when appropriate.
What
challenges will REALTORS face as the real estate market
stabilizes and how can the Association assist its members in
this changing market?

Community
Liaison Network
Bringing
REALTORS and Communities Together
The
Suburban REALTORS Alliance (SRA) recently launched a Community
Liaison Network that provides REALTOR members a unique
opportunity to become involved in the areas of government,
which directly impact the communities where they live and
work. In the event of a major issue of concern for
REALTORS in the area, the Community Liaision will be briefed
by staff and asked to contact their local officials.
Membership in SRA's Community Liaison Program does not involve
a significant time commitment. They are
seeking REALTORS who are willing to get involved in
the communities that you already care about. Together,
we can be a powerful voice for our industry and the consumers
we serve.

Economic
Stimulus Package
What
it Means for REALTORS
On
February 13, 2008, President Bush signed the economic stimulus
package into law. The economic stimulus package includes
several important housing provisions, including increases in
the loan limits for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (GSE) and also
Federal Housing Administration
(FHA).
For more
in-depth information about the new loan limits and their
implementation, click
here. Also, you can review the National Association
of REALTORS (NAR) estimates of the temporary FHA and GSE
single-family loan limits based on the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) existing FHA loan limits
as of January 31, 2008.
