How to Reach Generation Y Buyers

Some real estate proffessionals are finding success selling homes to an often overlooked customer base, Generation Y, whose members are 28 and younger.  The demographic characteristics of Gen Y are: advanced education, high earning potential, and likely to buy even if unmarried.  Agents are taking steps to connect with this market through unconventional approaches such as adding online advertising and participating in social networking websites like YouTube and MySpace.

 Is Your BLOG Legal?

Blogging has become popular with REALTORS looking for new and exciting ways to market themselves and their business.  The real-time, interactive nature of blogging makes it appealing to many.  Blog authors should be aware of issues concerning copyright infringement, defamation and obscenity, and fair housing.  The linking and third party commentary common in blogs places an added layer of responsibility on the author.  The article provides alerts and tips for some of these issues.

Understanding Regional Property Taxes

Property taxes factor into the value of properties and the choices consumers make.  A property's location has a tremendous impact upon how much a homeowner may pay in taxes.  Click here to access the Inquirer's Property Tax Calculator for the region and to compare tax rates across the region.

An Inquirer analysis of 500,000 tax records in Philadelphia and its four Pennsylvania suburban counties has found wildly disparate property-tax rates that are widening the economic divide between have and have-not towns.  Pennslyvania is divided into 3,134 local taxing authorities, including 501 school districts, 2,566 municipalities, and 67 counties - a patchwork among the most manifold in the nation.  Click Here for Full Article
