Carnegie Workshop Networking Workshop A Success
The Dale Carnegie Workshop was held on Thursday, April 19 at the Association in Malvern.  This special event was well received with more than 40 members  in attendance.  Participants were provided an opportunity to meet other actively involved members of the Association.  This event also provided the Association an opportunity to thank them for their continued commitment in serving as role models.  This exclusive event was made possible by our generous Affiliate members:  Brandywine/Springfield Waterproofing and USI Colburn Insurance Service.

RPAC RPAC--Your BEST Investment in Real Estate

As important as it is to be involved in your local community, it is equally important that we, as REALTORS®, are involved at the state and federal levels of government as well. Please consider making a contribution during our Annual RPAC Telethon on June 14th from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. held at the Association office.  To read more about how your contribution is your best investment in real estate,  click here.

Your Help Needed to Push Legislation Forward

Imagine an industry where banks are competing for your clients without having to adhere to the same rules as real estate brokers?  Imagine having access to a national health care option buoyed by 1.2 million members that Unions already have access to?  These are just two of the major legislative initiatives that the National Association of REALTORS seeks you and your colleagues help.  The collective strength of your REALTOR membership working in unison is far more effective than the efforts of a single individual or organization.  Thus, we implore you and your colleagues to reply to Calls to Actions (like the one last week on Banks in Real Estate) when made by the National Association of REALTORS, Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS or the Suburban REALTORS Alliance.  Emails and letters from constituents have proven to be the most effective way to make a difference in Washington DC and Harrisburg and is more critical than ever.  For more information, contact the Suburban REALTORS Alliance at 610-981-9000 or go to www.suburbanrealtorsalliance.com

According to Section 604(a)(22) of the Real Estate Licensing and Registration Act it is unlawful for a real estate broker or salesperson to accept a listing with an understanding that legal discrimination in the sale of rental property is to be practiced.  For more information about what licensees may/may not do under the Human Relations Act, click here.

 Standard Forms FORUM

Do you have a suggestion that could improve the Seller's Property Disclosure, Agreement of Sale, or another form?  REALTOR input into the creation and use of standard forms is critical to their continued value as a risk reduction tool.  Now is your chance to be heard.

All REALTOR members are invited to attend this FREE forum on Thursday, August 9 from 1:00p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

A panel of Suburban West members currently serving on the Pennslyvania Association of REALTORS' (PAR) Standard Forms Oversight Committee and Feedback Panel will facilitate discussion about standard forms.  The objective of this forum is to provide members with information on what is new in standard forms and to solicit comments and suggestions on the use of form in everyday practice.  The committee members will digest the information and bring relevent suggestions and comments back to PAR.
