Assessment Appeals

Does your client's home assessment seem high?  Did you know property owners have the right to appeal assessments? The importance of the assessment appeals process often goes overlooked by homeowners.  The assessed value does not mirror the market value of a property.  New home owners in Chester and Delaware Counties have seen their property assessments lowered anywhere from a few thousand dollars up to and possibly more than $100,000 through the assessment appeals process.

Help Shape the Direction of the
Suburban West REALTORS Association

Beginning October 4, REALTOR Members will be elgible to cast their votes for the five open positions on the Suburban West Board of Directors.  Members will have the opportunity to vote online, by mail, or in person at the General Membership Meeting on October 25.

The Association strongly encourages you to vote and to promote this election to your colleagues during one-on-one conversations and through sales meetings.  The election of qualified candidates is critical to the continued success of the organization.  You and your colleagues can help secure this success by educating yourselves on the candidates and casting your ballot online by 4 p.m. on October 24 or in person by 11 a.m. on October 25.

Remember that the Board is responsible for new initiatives like the Association Liaison Program.  You and your colleagues' choice of candidates can have a significant impact on the future of the organization.  To learn more about the candidates, including an audio stream of their positions, please click here.

Discussion Question

Each month, the Suburban West REALTORS Association will provide Association Liaisons with a question in which we are seeking member feedback on.   We urge you to discuss this question with agents at your office during a sales meeting, through an email, or during the course of your daily conversations when appropriate.

This MONTH's Question:

In preparation for the upcoming Liaison Invitational event, we would like to ask the Association Liaisons as to why they think they were the one approached by their office manager for this role?

Please provide your response to Mary Lim at mlim@suburbanwestrealtors.com.
