REALTOR NAR Member Survevy Shows Patience and Professionalism Pay Over Time

 

In early 2007, the NAR (National Association of REALTORS Association) conducted a survey of 140,000 members and received a response rate of 7.9 percent.  The comprised data indicated most agents work on a commission and become successful over time through training, repeat business, and referrals.

Communities in Focus: Homeowners' Associations

 

Homeowners' Associations (HOA) are becoming more of a presence in the real estate process.  They may have a real impact on not only the marketability of a property, but the settlement process as well.

 

HOAs represent the fastest form of housing today.  Many buyers, whether purchasing in an existing community or new construction, will find themselves under the auspices of such homeowners groups.  In many ways, a homeowners' association may essentially function like an governing entity, associations provide services, regulate activities, levy taxes (assessments), and impose fines.  Unlike a municipal government; however, homeowners' associations are not subject to the Constitutional constraits that public government must abide by.

EPA logoStudies Find Direct Evidence Linking Radon in Homes to Lung Cancer

 

REALTORS know that homeowners have an option to make the Aggreement of Sale contingent on a radon inspection.  But not everyone understands the risks associated with radon. 

 

Two studies show definitive evidence linking residential radon exposure and lung cancer.  The article provides further explanations and links for handouts to give to consumers.  The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) launched a new series of television, radio, and print public service announcements encouraging people to test and fix their homes for radon.

Mock Ethics Hearing Mock Ethics Hearing

 

As part of Suburban West REALTORS Association's continued efforts to promote professionalism amongst our members, the Association will present an interactive presentation that follows an Ethics Complaint from initial filing through the Grievence Committee and Professional Standards Hearing Panel.  The FREE event will be held on Wednesday, June 20 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, Kennett Square.
