Look At Facts, Not 'News,' Says Realtors' Economist

National Association of REALTORS (NAR) chief economist, David Lereah, says that the media's focus on national numbers is harming the industry.  NAR Electoral Success

Although a new party is in power in Congress, the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) still believes that the public policy issues we have been fighting for will be well supported, including: promoting homeownership, fostering a vibrant commercial real estate sector, the need to expand the availability of health insurance for small businesses and congressional oversight of federal regulatory decisions. All told, 92% of national candidates supported by NAR won on November 7 and the Association intends to seize the opportunities presented by the election results.

Consumer Notice Usage For Commercial Transaction

The Pennslvania Association of REALTORS (PAR) developed a simple flow chart for how agents would conduct an initial interview of a client to determine if a Consumer Notice is required for commercial property. The original law requires that every consumer be provided with a copy of the Consumer Notice at the first "substantive conversation" between the licensee and the consumer. Act 125 of 2006 will provide an exclusion of the Consumer Notice for commercial transactions. The Act will also amend the Real Estate Licensing and Registration Act (RELRA). Act 125 becomes effective January 2007.
