Are You Putting Your Clients At Risk?
Data Security Laws Passed in Pennsylvania

binary As a real estate licensee, you not only need to protect your personal information but that of your clients. Unfortunately, there are more identity theft crimes than ever before and given the access that you have with your clients, you can put them at risk. The state of Pennsylvania has recently enacted legislation that may have an effect on the information gathering and storage you perform with clients' data. Paula Tansey, the Association's Director of Professional Conduct and Development, has written an article outlining the new laws. If you have any questions, please contact her at 610-560-4800 or email ptansey@suburbanwestrealtors.com.

 Seller's Market Still Forecast Locally

house According to a recent report from TREND, key indicators show that house sales should continue to be strong in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties over the next three months. During the Second Quarter of 2006 (April, May, June), unemployment rates fell in each each county and mortgage rates continue to be favorable. Projecting into the Third Quarter, TREND reports that each county will continue to be a seller's market.

Nationally, there are more dramatic market corrections taking place. The National Association of REALTORS recently looked at how these corrections are effecting some parts of the country while not others.

Help Protect Your Clients From Moving Fraud

moving Moving fraud is increasingly becoming a problem for the many Americans who move each year. While the vast majority of movers run legitimate businesses, a growing number of complaints have filed against movers, a majority of which spring from the fraudulent practices of a small percentage of dishonest movers known as "rogue" movers. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, a divison of U.S. Department of Transportation, has beeing working with other Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, consumer groups and the moving industry to educate the public about how to avoid moving fraud. We believe this is very helpful information that REALTORS can pass to their clients as another service to ensure the transaction and move are as smooth as possible.
