Starbucks Mornings > Equal Housing Opportunity: A Regional and Historical Perspective

About:

In 1956, before the days of fair housing legislation, a handful of residents of eastern Delaware County banded together to support the efforts of a unique real estate firm, Friends Suburban Housing, that accepted only those listings which could be shown on a non-discriminatory basis to all financially eligible home seekers.  This began today what is the oldest fair housing organization in the United States, the Fair Housing Council of Suburban Philadelphia.

Join Megan Bolin from FHCSP as she covers:

  • History of the local fair housing movement & impact on housing practices
